UseAlthough the chances of seeing a Mountain Lion are low you should still beware. Even though you can't see them doesn't mean they can't see you. You should stay still and make eye contact. Slowly start to walk backwards and talk apologetically to the Cougar. Throw rocks and sticks at the cougar, if the cougar still doesn't leave use bear spray.
Keep small children and pets close to you. Don't run away the cougar will most likely chase you. If the lion attacks fight back. If you can grab a stick and hit the cat to get it off of you. Use bear spray if the Cougar does not leave.
